The Uber Portfolio Review
One of the best ways to improve your own stock photography is to get direct feedback from experts with proven success in the industry. So we’ve created the ultimate stock photo portfolio review, open to all Microstock Expo attendees.
How it Works

- Attendees will be invited to submit some of their best stock photos, up to 20 each, before the conference
- During the session, the photos will be displayed on the big screen anonymously
- A panel of experts will say what they think about each photo, highlighting what works in stock and what they might have done differently
- The audience will also be able to make comments and ask questions
Learning You Can’t Buy
Where else can you get live feedback from four proven industry experts? This is an amazing opportunity for a free portfolio review to take your already-professional stock photography to the next level.
Plus you’ll get countless insights from the reviews of photos submitted by other attendees, and be able to ask questions along the way.
Who are the Experts?
There will be four experts in total, each with a distinct background in stock, but all with the same trait of proven long-term success creating and managing high-selling stock photos.
- Frank Erler – as Founder and CEO of the non-stocky-stock photo agency, Photocase, Frank will bring balance and a critical industry-fringe perspective to the review team.
- Sarah Fix – VP Creative with Blend Images, Sarah is responsible for recruiting the photographers that are seeing Blend buck industry trends and continue to achieve strong growth. With a background with traditional stock photo agencies, including Corbis, Sarah knows exactly what makes high selling stock.
- Josh Hodge – a rapidly rising exclusive iStockphoto contributor, Josh maintains a break-neck rate of production keeping his iStock queue always maxed out. His sales record speaks for itself, having sold 170,000 licenses since 2008 on iStock alone.
- Andres Rodriguez – one of the established leaders in microstock photography, Andres has been working as a full time microstock photographer for seven years, most of which he’s spent towards the top of the list of highest selling contributors. He’s an established microstock guru with a clear understanding of what makes stock photos sell.
The other two experts will be updated here as soon as they confirm their participation.
About the Anonymity
By default each photo will be shown without identifying the photographer. If the experts are particularly impressed with a photo they may ask if the photographer wants to identify themselves. The photographer can either raise their hand to take the glory, or remain silent to keep their anonymity.
How to Contribute Your Photos
Contributing photos is only open to photographers who are registered to attend, for obvious reasons. We’ll be sending out an invitation with instructions to all registered attendees who clicked the “I’m a photographer” box during registration. If you missed the message or didn’t click the Photographer box and you’re registered to attend, just contact us and we’ll send you the instructions.
